«Apple is rumored to release an updated iPod within the next few months, and that will place even more pressure on precious, NAND flash memory supplies. According to a recent research report issued Wednesday by Gartner Research, global sales of portable MP3 players will soar to 187.7 million units this year, up from 134.5 million in 2005. A major chunk of that growth will come from Apple, which leverages its market dominance to craft longer-term memory supply contracts.
